Median pay gap is 10.6 percent; mean pay gap is 16.7 percent.
LONDON; Jan. 18, 2019 —Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today published its latest U.K. gender pay gap data, which measures the average difference in pay between men and women across a company’s workforce.
Accenture’s median pay gap in the U.K. is 10.6 percent—compared with 17.9 percent across all companies in the U.K. and 22.7 percent for the professional services industry in the U.K.—and its mean pay gap is 16.7 percent. The company also reported that its median bonus gap in the U.K. is 20.1 percent and its mean bonus gap is 57.9 percent.
Accenture first reported its U.K. gender pay gap data in November 2017, before the April 2018 deadline set by the U.K. government requiring companies with 250 or more employees to publish their gender pay gap information annually.
Accenture’s pay and bonus gaps are primarily due to the lower proportion of women in the most-senior roles within the company. Closing the gender pay gap is a key component of Accenture’s commitment to advancing gender equality. The company has set a global goal to achieve a gender-balanced workforce, with 50 percent women and 50 percent men, by 2025 and also plans to grow its percentage of women in managing-director roles to 25 percent worldwide by 2020.

In the U.K., Accenture has committed to having women comprise 50 percent of entry-level hires. This hiring practice is supported by a comprehensive set of programmes to support women’s development, progression and retention within the business, which include leadership coaching, mentoring and unconscious-bias training for all decision-making executives.
